I've got two things on my mind, both of them have to do with food.
1. I am a sea food snob. My wife and the kids are back east visiting family right now and I've been home or at work for most of the time, but I went back there for a couple of days. When we go back east, we always eat at a place called The Lobster Hut. It's a seafood place that is at the end of a pier that is kind of a diner style restaurant. They have lobster rolls that are awesome. If you don't know what a lobster roll is, it's like a lobster salad (I think that it is the claw meat only) on a toasted hot dog bun. It's really small but it costs over 9 bucks. I had one this past week and I've been craving seafood ever since. But when you've had seafood that good, it sucks everywhere else you go. Since I left the east coast, I've had 4 crab cakes and a lot of sushi. I've come to a conclusion that I've only really loved seafood from the northeast and from the northwest. I had sushi one time at 2:00 am in Vancouver, BC and nothing has come close since. So if fresh seafood is best, how close to the coast do you have to be. The unfortunate thing about seafood is that it is expensive. You'll never be sure if it's good until after you order it. If you order seafood in the midwest and it sucks, do you have any right to complain about it? Couldn't the waiters response be, "Your in Kansas for cryin' out loud, what did you expect? I'm in Oregon right now, but I'm not near the coast. So the question is, how close to the coast do you have to be to demand excellence in seafood?
2. Have you seen the latest Nesquik commercial. I never expected that the bunny's voice was like that. How disappointing. I think of food mascot greats such as Tony the Tiger and Count Chocula. That tiger was a real man's man, er, tiger. And the Count, he was a romantic. But both of these characters are characters that our kids can look up to. That rabbit is weak and timid, and is not a good role model for my kids. I am putting my foot down and we will no longer have Nesquik Chocolate milk in my house
